Audrey Mae Charity

Audrey Mae Charity, daughter of the late Raymond Charity Sr. and Ada Pearl Charity, was born February 2, 1944 in Manteo. She died Saturday, December 22, 2018.

She was a native of Manteo, attended Dare County schools and received a certificate in the medical field from the College of The Albemarle. Audrey was a devoted member of Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she was part of the Usher Board, Choir and a leader of the Praise Dance Team. She was also a member of the Manteo Community Choir. Audrey was employed with K-Mart and Peppercorns Restaurant.

Survivors include daughters Earlene and Cheryl Charity of Manteo, sons Timothy and Antonio Charity of Manteo; brothers Raymond Charity, deceased (Amecia) of Currituck, Preston Charity (Faye) of Lawton, OK, Wilbur Charity (Carrie) of Currituck and Major Charity (Stacey) of Columbia; sisters Terry Riddick (Howard) of Oxon Hill, MD, Beulah Ashby (Robert) of Manteo, Marcia Etheridge (Donald) of Manteo and Brenda Newsome, deceased (John, deceased) of Trenton, NJ; grandchildren D’adrian, Tarikia, Bridgette, Jamell, Da’Shae, Sharelle, Timothy, Krystal, Nigeria and Jahlik; fifteen great-grandchildren; one godson; one goddaughter and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family received friends and relatives for a visitation on Thursday, December 27. The funeral was be held Friday at Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Marcus Etheridge.
