Letter to the Editor: Generous locals donate to basketball teams

As tough of a year as 2018 was to so many businesses and people, on behalf of the Columbia High School basketball teams, we would like to give a HUGE thank you to the following businesses and people that did without, in spite of a rough year, and still donated to help get new warmups and basketball shoes for our young adults at Columbia High.

Please notice these names and give them thanks for each child they helped:

The Crossing and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Summerall, Brian Oakes and Oakes Amoco, CT Nails, Columbia Pharmacy, Land & Sea Cleaning with Mr. and Mrs. Jody Jarvis, Andy Jones and Coastal Lawns, Brickhouse Inn, Food Lion, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Cherry, Cosi Belle, Tim Suter Repair Shop, Columbia Mexican Restaurant, Black Gold Farms, Scupperong Farm, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davenport, Lee Chevrolet in Washington, Steve Lee, China King, Captain Neil’s Seafood, Mike McCarthy with Champion, Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy James, Atlantic Building Supply by Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ralph and the many that do not want to be named.

“It takes a village,” and your giving has made our young adults look and feel good when we get off the bus at another school. We cannot say “thank you” enough! Anyone that we forgot, the biggest “PLEASE forgive us!”

With love,

CHS Coaches

Girls Coach Lisa Woodley, Varsity Coach Vi Holloway and JV Coach Mike Cole
