Senior games registration open for 2019

Registration for the 31st Annual Outer Banks Senior Games is now open.

Registration is open to artists and athletes age 50 and older.

The Outer Banks Senior Games competition and games will be held April 22 through May 4.

Top competitors will qualify to compete in the 2019 State Finals, held next fall in Raleigh.

Participants can register for the Outer Banks Senior Games online at torch.ncseniorgames.org or print a registration form available at darenc.com/seniorgames. Registration forms are also available for pickup at the Baum Center, Dare County Center in Manteo and the Fessenden Center in Buxton.

Deadline for the early bird registration is Feb. 15 and the cost is $10 ($8 online registration) for up to four events. General registration will continue through March 15 and the cost is $15 ($12 online registration). Registration forms must be filled out and received at the Baum Center by 5 p.m., March 15.

Opening ceremonies will be held on April 26 at the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills. The Outer Banks Hospital Health Fair will begin at 8 a.m. followed by opening ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. For more information on the Outer Banks Senior Games, visit darenc.com/seniorgames.

The Outer Banks Senior Games is presented by Dare County Older Adult Services in cooperation with Dare County Parks and Recreation and Dare County Buildings and Grounds. The Outer Banks Senior Games are sanctioned by the North Carolina Senior Games, Inc., and promoted statewide by the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services.
