Jo Ann Roughton Basnight Patrick, 68, of Columbia, died February 24, 2019 at Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

Born in Tyrrell County, December 2, 1950, she was of the late Alver Roughton and Wilma Simmons Roughton, who survives. She was married to Charles Basnight Sr., who preceded her in death, and later she married David Patrick, who survives.

She was a member of the Soundside Missionary Baptist Church and loved to travel and play table games.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 28 at the Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia, Chapel. Steve Bryan will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In addition to her husband, survivors include son Charles H. Basnight and wife Jennifer; daughter Terry E. Dail and husband Chuck, both of Wilmington; grandchildren Noah H. Dail, Cameron Dail, Connor Dail and Rori E. Basnight; brothers Ben Roughton of Asheville and David Roughton of Plymouth.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
