Joan Carolyn Phelps Harrell, 64, of Plymouth died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

Born October 29, 1954 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Gerald Phelps Sr. and Margaret Bagley Phelps Moore, who survives. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by husband, Joseph Lannie “Joe” Harrell Sr. of Plymouth; daughter Ruth Harrell Snell and husband Jared of Plymouth; son Joseph L. “Joey” Harrell Jr. and wife Morgan of Benson; sisters Faith Phelps Noell and husband David of Plymouth and Angelia Phelps and husband Troy of Washington; brother Aubrey Gerald “Jerry” Phelps Jr. and wife Karen of Plymouth; grandchildren, McKellon Snell, Henderson Snell, A.J. Harrell and Leo Harrell.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 28 at 2 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Pastor Lee Price officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at the residence of her daughter, Ruth.
