Mitchell Dale Miles, 59, of Nags Head died February 27, 2019, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Born in Norfolk, Va. on May 12, 1959, he was the son of the late Wanda Lee Lance and Terry Edward Miles (Virginia Miles).

Survivors include children Alicia Stearns (Ryan) of Kill Devil Hills, Matt Miles (Amy) of Shawboro and Dana Burkindine (Chris) of Shawboro; grandchildren Aiden Burkindine, Liam Burkindine, Caleb Vaughan, Lily Vaughan all of Shawboro and Mara Stearns of Kill Devil Hills; and siblings Terry Lillich, Timothy Miles, Ranell Miles and Ronda Williams.

In addition to his parents, Mitchell was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Stewart.

After years of fighting chronic breathing issues, he is now at peace and would want everyone to remember the good times. Mitch was a people person and loved his friends and family. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, art, electronics, martial arts, and lively debate.

In keeping with Mitchell’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
