The motorcycle driver killed yesterday in a traffic accident has been identified as Scott Drew, 51, of Moyock. Drew died at the scene after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by an SUV, sending him into the back of a pickup truck stopped at a traffic light in Moyock.

The driver of the SUV, 69-year-old Samuel Solomon, was injured with what the Highway Patrol described as non-critical injuries. Solomon, also from Moyock, has been charged with misdemeanor death by auto.

Currituck Fire-EMS was dispatched to the intersection of Moyock Commons Drive and Caratoke Highway in Currituck County at 4:12 p.m. yesterday for the three-vehicle accident.

The driver of the third vehicle involved in the accident was not injured. The accident is still under investigation.
