Babysitting workshop to cover basics, best behavior and more

The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck Center is hosting a babysitting workshop June 11-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop is designed to give youth ages 11 to 14 basic skills to prepare them to care for younger children. The curriculum of the course covers five areas: babysitting basics, best practices, babysitting breakdowns, best behavior and the business of babysitting.
Successful participants will receive a certificate that they can present to their future clients documenting completion of this training workshop. They will also receive business cards that will help them advertise their babysitting services.
The cost of the workshop is $10 and includes a CPR class, handouts and supplies. Registration by June 4 is required. Register online at go.ncsu.edu/babysittingregistration or by contacting the office at 252-232-2262.
