Peggy Saunders Rogers, 87, of Wanchese, died April 20, 2019.

She enjoyed feeding the birds, reading her bible, tending to her flowers and putting puzzles together.

Peggy was preceded in death by parents Hosanne Payne Saunders and Gus Saunders Sr. and sons Michael Rogers Sr. and Danny Rogers Sr.

She is survived by daughters Sherry Moore (Buster) of Colington and Crystal Rogers of Manteo; son Ernest “Sammy” Rogers Jr. (Brenda) of Wanchese; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on April 26 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Mann officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Private burial will take place at Cudworth Cemetery.
