Scup summer harvest starts May 1

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-15-2019 sets the harvest period and limits for the commercial scup summer harvest period, north of Cape Hatteras.

The proclamation is effective 12:01 a.m. on May 1.

Scup size limit is 9 inches.

Get the latest headlines sent to you

Harvest limit is 100 pounds of scup per trip.

This commercial harvest period will close at 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 or when the quota is reached, whichever occurs first.
