Vermilion snapper trip limit goes down to 500 pounds

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-18-2019 reduces the trip limit for the commercial harvest of vermilion snapper from 1,000 pounds to 500 pounds gutted weight.

The reduction is effective 12:01 a.m. on May 6. This trip limit will remain in place until the end of the current fishing season on June 30 or when the quota is reached, whichever occurs first.

This proclamation applies to both state and federal waters.
