Interim president selected for College of The Albemarle

Travis Twiford will serve as the interim president of College of The Albemarle.

He was appointed to the position by the college’s Board of Trustees May 28.

At the same meeting, the board also approved a presidential profile narrative about the college and the attributes desired for the next president.

Twiford will begin working at the college June 30. His appointment is subject to the approval of the board of the North Carolina Community College system.

Most recently, Twiford has served as interim superintendent for Tyrrell County, Camden County and Nash-Rocky Mount Schools.

In 2014, he retired as associate professor from Virginia Tech. For 10 years, as a consultant, he conducted a salary study, facility studies and professional development sessions.
