Recreational harvest of golden tilefish closed

The 2019 recreational fishing season for golden tilefish in South Atlantic federal waters and state waters closed at 12:01 a.m. (local time) June 17.

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-20-2019 states “It is unlawful to possess golden tilefish taken from waters under the jurisdiction of North Carolina or the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council. The golden tilefish recreational season will re-open January 1, 2020.”

NOAA Fisheries reported that the 2019 golden tilefish recreational limit of 2,316 fish has been reached.
