Steven J. Butler, 77, of Grandy, died June 22, 2019 after a brief illness. He graduated from the University of Maryland and served in the National Guard. Steve retired from the Dept. of Defense, Navy Dept. NAVSEA. After retirement, Steve worked for several years at Southern Shores Realty.

Steve was preceded in death by parents Joseph E. and Margaret E. Butler and brother in-law Greg Fitchko.

Survivors include wife Carol; daughter Susan and her husband Charlie Brown and grandson Jordan of Potomac Falls, Va.; son Brian and his wife Carrie; grandsons Cole and Caden; granddaughter Caitlyn; brother -in-law Frank Fitchko of Front Royal, Va. and sister in-law Donna Fitchko of Ligonier, Pa.

A viewing will be held at Gallop Memorial Chapel in Barco June 26 from 5-7 p.m. There will be no funeral services. Scattering of his ashes will be at a later date.

Per Steve’s request, no suits or ties, casual dress only.
