January 21, 1957 – July 3, 2019

Manns Harbor – Sharon Gail Basnight Creef, 62, of Manns Harbor, NC went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, after a courageous battle for her health.

Born January 21, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Marcelene Cahoon Basnight and Wallace H. Basnight.

A homemaker, Gail was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and absolutely the sweetest lady and woman on Earth.

She is survived by her husband, Rocky W. Creef; two daughters, Kelly Gail Creef of Manteo and Ashley Pearl Creef of Manns Harbor; and one son, Justin Warren Creef (Catherine) of Manns Harbor; and three grandchildren, Brooklyn Taylor Creef-Gordon, Kennedy Lynn Creef-Gordon, and Kylie Gail Tillett. Also, surviving are four brothers, Louie Basnight (Arlene) of Manns Harbor, Ricky Basnight (Crystal) of East Lake, Andy Basnight (Kay) of Stanley, VA and Tony Basnight (Kelly) of Stanley, VA; two sisters, Linda Beasley (Robert) of Manns Harbor and Auntie Faye Terry (Joe) of Jonesville, VA; father-in-law, Warren Creef of Manns Harbor; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Creef and Wendy Parks both of Manns Harbor; brothers-in-law, Bruce Creef and Greg Creef (Anna) both of Manns Harbor and several nieces and nephew.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyrone “Buckwheat” Creef-Gordon.

A funeral will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Asa Lowe, Rev. Charles Daly, and Rev. Ken Mann officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and relatives for a reception. Private burial will take place at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
