Letter to the Editor: Article brings Truman to mind

To the Editor:
The article in the Sunday The Coastland Times written by experts on the future of the economy brings to mind a statement by President Harry Truman.
Truman said, “I always wanted a one armed economist because every time I asked one a question he would answer but then say, ‘but on the other hand . . .’”
Truman also described politics in Washington, D.C. by saying, “If you want a friend in this town, buy a dog.”
