According to Randall Edwards, public information officer for Currituck County,  all 9-1-1 calls are being answered as normal and emergency services are responding to each event.

However, county communications has set up two additional lines that may be used for non-emergency situations or if a caller cannot connect to 9-1-1 due to weather-related service issues. These additional lines are:
