Woman run over by Chicamacomico Fire Dept. pickup dies

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has released information on the death of a woman who was run over Saturday by a Chicamacomico Fire Department pickup truck.

According to information from DCSO, on September 14 at around 2:30 p.m., the Dare County Sheriff’s Office and the National Park Service responded to a CPR in progress call in the area of Corbina Drive in Rodanthe.

Upon arrival, they found that a 70-year-old female had been run over by a Chicamacomico Fire Department pickup truck. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Dare County EMS.

The pickup truck was exiting the beach using the access at the end of the road when the incident occurred, according to the release.

The case is currently under investigation and those with any information are asked contact the Dare County Sheriff’s Office at 252-475-5980.
