Ann-Marie Parker named Employee of the Month at The Outer Banks Hospital

Pharmacist Ann-Marie Parker has been named The Outer Banks Hospital’s August Employee of the Month. She joined The Outer Banks Hospital in March 2017.

Parker’s team members agree that she is team-oriented and consistently willing to fill empty staffing spots, often last minute or even during a hurricane. She offers help to others in her department, no matter large or small the task.

Always bubbly and smiling, Parker shows heartfelt concern for every patient. She strives to provide the best pharmaceutical care possible. She is frequently known to engage the pharmacy team with thought-provoking questions or share information about new medications.

Parker seeks out opportunities and additional responsibilities to make the department as successful as possible. She is also very involved with the Dementia Friendly initiative. She presents on the topic at community events and at other hospitals hoping to begin their own Dementia Friendly programs.

Upon hearing the announcement that she was chosen as the Employee of the Month, Parker stated, “The Outer Banks Hospital knows how to motivate their employees to provide great care! They make being Employee of the Month a big deal and it is both touching and humbling.” She continued, “Also, the pharmacy department does an amazing job making team members feel valued with cookouts, contests, birthday celebrations and support for individual projects.”
