Program on Benjamin Cahoon at next Tyrrell GHS meet

The Tyrrell County Genealogical and Historical Society will be holding its September meeting on Sunday, September 22 at 2:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Alvah H. Ward Jr., who will present a program on his grandfather, Benjamin Cahoon, entitled “The Career of a Young Man From Gum Neck, 1878-1953.”

Ward is a member of the society and currently resides in Manteo.

The Tyrrell County Genealogical and Historical Society meets the fourth Sunday of each month, except for November and December, at the Senior Citizen’s Center located at 406 Bridge Street in Columbia. All meetings are free and open to the public.
