Mary Charlotte Allen Thompson Walker, 98, of Plymouth died October 15, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Plymouth.

Born May 11, 1921 in the Terra Ceia Community in Beaufort County she was the daughter of the late James E. Allen and Estelle Darden Allen and was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Carlise Thompson and William Carl Walker, Sr.; son, James Allen Walker and brother Alvin Allen.  Charlotte lived a full life; being the first female police officer in The Town of Washington Police Department, owned, operated and worked in several stores in Plymouth.  She was a member of First Christian Church.

Her family includes her daughters, Patricia T. Czech and husband Joe of Milton, FL., Betty Bowen and husband Mike of Plymouth, N.C.; step-son, William C. Walker, Jr. and wife Gerri of Plymouth, N.C.; grandchildren, Barbara Czech, Joe Czech, Michael Bowen, II, Stuart Bowen and Colton Walker; great grandchildren, Keith Bowen, Montgomery Bowen, Colin Bowen, Charlotte Bowen, Christina Windley, Carl Walker, Josh Walker and Mark Walker.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church with Pastor Jimmy Elks officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at First Christian Church and other times at her daughter’s home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Christian Church, PO Box 97, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
