Suspect sought in Kitty Hawk sexual assault, armed robbery

The Kitty Hawk Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault and armed robbery that occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, October 21.

According to police, the reported assault took place in the 5000 block of Lindbergh Ave.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20-30 years old with a slender build and 5’8” to 5’10” tall. He was reported to have shoulder length braided hair and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans.

KHPD reported that officers began canvassing the area immediately in an attempt to locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

Those with any information about the incident or the identity of the suspect are asked to call the Kitty Hawk Police Department between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 252-261-3895. Calls may also be made anytime to 911 or the Dare Community Crime Line at 252-473-3111 or 800-745-2746. Calls to the Dare Community Crime Line are confidential and anonymous and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward if information leads to an arrest.
