Joseph Earl Hardy

Joseph Earl Hardy, of Manteo, died October 23, 2019 at the age of 57. Joseph was born to parents Jack Lewis Hardy and Mary Francis Lamb on December 23, 1961 in Manteo.
He was employed as a carpet installer with A&B Carpets for several years. He also worked with Johnson Boatbuilders as well as being self-employed with his own business of installing carpet in yachts for several boat builders on the Outer Banks. In his later years, he worked as a commercial fisherman with Floyd Gibbs.
Josie, as he was known by his family and friends, was an avid fisherman. He loved being on the water or at the beach trying to catch that one big fish that would always get away.
Josie is survived by daughters Danielle C. Hardy, Sabra Basnight Hardy and son Joseph E. Hardy Jr. (Little Joe); granddaughter Kylauni Hardy; sisters Michelle (Bill) Congleton, Rosemary (Jim) Broadhurst; brothers Martin L. Hardy, Myron Hardy, Terry (Mona) Hardy and Carl (Mary) Hunt and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Jack Lewis Hardy and Mary Francis Lamb.
Josie’s memorial service will be held at the Gallop Chapel in Nags Head, October 27 at 2 p.m. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the online register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
