The Giving Tree project is sponsored by the Cape Hatteras Secondary School’s DECA.
The community service project benefits the locals of Ocracoke Island affected by Hurricane Dorian.
The project goal is to provide traditional Christmas decorations to the residents of Ocracoke Island. The club is collecting new and lightly used decorations and they have created an Amazon Wishlist.
The student organization is accepting monetary donations in the form of cash or a check. Checks payable to CHSS DECA must contain a phone number and home address. Mail checks to CHSS DECA, P. O. Box 948, Buxton, NC 27920.
“Our chapter is looking forward to implementing and executing this project, but most of all, giving back to our neighboring island,” writes Rubie Shoemaker, one of the students involved in this community service project.
For additional information and questions, email Foster Mattingly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donated Christmas ornaments can be mailed directly to CHSS DECA, 48576 NC Hwy. 12, Buxton, NC 27920.
