Thomas Foster Bowser

Thomas Foster Bowser was born October 23, 1957, to Cecil and Catherine Bowser in Manteo. “Fred,” as he was affectionately known, died November 13, 2019.

Thomas was educated at Manteo High School and upon graduation, he entered the United States Army. He later retired from the NC Marine Maintenance Ferry Division as Paint Supervisor.

Thomas is survived by daughter LaToya Starr Shelby; mother Catherine Bowser; sisters Elnora and Mary Bowser of Maryland and Gilda and Catherine Bowser of Manteo; brothers Roland Bowser of Manteo and Melvin Bowser (Irma) of Hinesville, Ga.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by father Cecil Bowser Sr. and brothers Johnny Pledger and Cecil Bowser Jr.

Thomas was special to everyone because everyone was special to Thomas.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on November 23 at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo. Burial with military honors will follow at Haven Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
