Clara Mae Davenport Rhodes, 87, of Columbia, died November 30, 2019.

She was born to the late Percy and Lillie Davenport on October 11, 1932 in Columbia. A former crabber and homemaker, she spent her life praising Jesus, worshiping with her church family at Faith Baptist Church in Columbia, and sending cards to many people throughout the community.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Towsen Earl Rhodes and siblings Ida, Thomas, Thelma, Wilma, Percy Jr. and Billy.

She is survived by children Mary Lou Everett and James Earl Rhodes and wife Jan, brother Dallas Davenport and a host of grandchildren (Beth, Jimmy, Nancy, Joshua and Jessica) and great grandchildren.

The family received guests December 1 at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia.

A celebration of her life was held at Faith Baptist Church in Columbia on December. Burial followed at the family plot in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
