State of the County 2020 on Hatteras Island slated

Published 1:19 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2020

In an effort to reach and engage with Hatteras Island citizens, Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robert L. “Bob” Woodard Sr., will repeat the State of the County 2020 presentation on Monday, Feb. 3 at Cape Hatteras Secondary School (CHSS).

Woodard will deliver the State of the County presentation that originally took place on Jan. 15 in Kill Devil Hills to a standing room only crowd. The presentation showcases the county’s accomplishments and challenges from 2019 while looking to what’s ahead as a new decade begins.

“I would like to personally invite all Hatteras Island residents who were unable to attend last week’s presentation in Kill Devil Hills” said Woodard. “The State of the County address focuses on many issues of importance for Hatteras Island and the February 3rd event at CHSS will help citizens learn about the county’s accomplishments and challenges while also celebrating Dare County’s 150th Anniversary.” He added, “it will also provide an opportunity for citizens to ask questions.”
