Doris Davis Hendrix, 81, of Currituck, died February 8, 2020 in Chesapeake, Va. A native of Currituck County, Doris was the daughter of the late Wallace and Margaret Davis. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by husband Tim Mason Hendrix.

Following high school, Doris attended business school and landed a job at the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA. Bright and hardworking, Doris was eventually offered a position with Currituck County government as the tax collector. She was an active, long-time member of Rehoboth Baptist Church of Maple.

Survivors include daughter Ellen H. Owens (Buddy) of Currituck; son Jeffrey Hendrix of Moyock; brother Wallace Davis Jr. (Carolyn) of Currituck; granddaughter Abbigail Owens of Currituck as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The memorial service will be held at Rehoboth Baptist Church February 14 at 11 a.m. Reverend Joe Griffith will officiate. Friends may call at the Hendrix residence at all times until the service. The family asks that anyone wishing to honor Doris with a memorial donation do so through the Alzheimers Association.
