The First Flight High School winter track team traveled to Hampton, Va. on Feb. 4 to participate in a meet at the Boo Williams Complex hosted by Norfolk Academy. Eighteen teams competed in the meet. First Flight girls finished second and the First Flight boys finished fourth.

First Flight’s top performers in the meet were:

Girls:

Lydia Sillies (9) 1^st in the high jump at 5’-0”

Stella Bryson (9) 2^nd in the 500m at  1:25.38  (state qualifying time)

Lily Snow (9) 2^nd in the 1600m at 5:40.01  (state qualifying time)

Maddy Wagner (11) 2^nd in the 1000m at 3::22.40

Tatum Dermatas (9) 3^rd  in the 1000m at 3::29.67

The 4 X 400 relay team placed 1^st at 4:32.0. The relay team members were Emma Byard (12),

Tatum Dermatas (9), Maddy Wagner (11) and Maggie McNinch (10).

Boys:

Henry Stecher (11) 1^st in the 500m at 1:09.14  (state qualifying time)

Tyler Sylvia (11) 2^nd in the 1000m at 2:40.64  (state qualifying time)

Dominic Marino (10) 2^nd in the 300m at 39.03

Warner Campbell (10) 3^rd in the 1000m at 2:42.08

The 4 X 400 relay team placed 1^st at 3:44.65. The relay team members were Dominic Marino (10), Warner Campbell (10), Max Bowlin (11) and Henry Stecher (11).
