CPR class offered on Hatteras Island

Hatteras Island Rescue Squad will offer a public CPR class on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at the station in Buxton.

This one night, three-hour class will cover adult, child and infant CPR and use of an AED. The class is open to residents and property owners of Hatteras Island.

The squad works with the American Heart Association Training Center. The association now charges $5 per student for a two-year CPR certification. Attendance and completion of the class are free of charge if an AHA certification card is not needed. If a certification card for employment or credentialing reasons is needed, there is a $5 charge. Payment must be in cash in exact change on the night of the class.

Pre-registration is required. Call 252-995-5490 and leave name, contact number and number of students attending. You will be contacted to advise if space is available.

Walk-ins are welcome on a space-available basis in the event of vacancies or cancellations.
