Gwen White presented with Order of the Long Leaf Pine

Gwen A. White of Columbia and Kill Devil Hills was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Governor Roy Cooper last month. The award was presented during a North Carolina Lions Clubs meeting in Gastonia.

The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is the highest honor for state service given by North Carolina’s Governor.

White recently completed a two-year term as a Lions Clubs International director, representing the world’s largest service organization across the United States and abroad.

She is a member of the First Flight Lions Club in Kill Devil Hills and serves as executive director of the NC Lions Visually Impaired Persons Fishing Tournament, Inc. In 2010 White was recognized as an Ambassador of Good Will, the highest honor awarded by Lions Clubs International.
