Westerville, OH – Elinor Douglas Price died of natural causes joining her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of April 9, 2020, while residing at Heartland of Westerville, Ohio during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. She was 86 years old.
Elinor was born October 27, 1933, in Salvo, NC. Her family moved to Manteo where they resided and became founding members of the Manteo Assembly of God Church. She was a very active member and Sunday school teacher. She graduated from Manteo High School in 1953 and regularly attended her high school class reunions. She married Theodore Price, a career Navy man. She was a devout Christian, loving and devoted mother. Elinor cared for and helped raise many children over the years. Her passions included her family, children, reading, puzzles and various crafts, including crocheting, cross-stitch and sewing.
In 2012, she decided to move to Westerville to be closer to her son and his family, where she resided her remaining years.
Elinor was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore; mother, Annie Johnson (McClain), and sister, Louise Brown (Andy). She is survived by her son, Gerald Price (Louisa) and granddaughter, Anneke (Vincent).
Due to these extraordinary times, the funeral will be privately held. Burial will take place in Manteo Cemetery.
