COVID-19 by the numbers

In North Carolina, as of April 24, 8,052 cases of COVID-19 are lab-confirmed. That figure represents an increase of 344 cases.

North Carolina’s death count from the virus stands at 269, an increase of 16 from April 23. Hospitals are reporting 477 patients from COVID-19. This number declined by nine patients. Dare County’s positive test results remains at 15, the same number reported 13 days ago. No identified cases remain in the county.

“The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services is pleased with the data being seen in Dare County. The community has responded positively to the call for social distancing, limiting direct contact and good hygiene. Your efforts are appreciated and are making a difference,” states Bulletin 51, issued by the Joint Information Center.

Starting April 27, the Joint Information Center will provide video updates twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the COVID-19 bulletins will be issued three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays unless information warrants additional updates. The Dare County and state COVID-19 case numbers will continue to be updated daily and can be found on the Dare County website at darenc.com/covid19.
