The Town of Columbia will lift restrictions on park and playground closings effective Saturday morning, May 9. Parks and playgrounds have been closed since April 6 in response to Governor Roy Cooper’s statewide actions to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
These facilities will be open to the public, but groups of ten or more will not be allowed to congregate, according to information from the town. The public is expected to continue observing restrictions such as social distancing by maintaining six feet between individuals and by wearing a face mask.
It is recommended that playground equipment be wiped clean with a sanitizer before use by children.
The Columbia Town Docks will remain closed to overnight boaters at least until May 16.
