Earl Ray “Sonny” Godfrey, 68, of Elizabeth City Health and Rehab, died at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center on July 1, 2020. Born in Pasquotank County on April 23, 1952 to the late Ray Godfrey and Earline Morse Godfrey, he was owner of Sun Ray Farms.

He is survived by sister Sharon G. Meiggs and husband Garry of Burnt Mills as well as a niece, nephew and extended family.

A private service will be held. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is serving the family. Condolences may be sent to www.TwifordFH.com.
