George Gerard Gundaker, 89, of Wanchese, died July 3, 2020 at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Mary Hogan and Clarence Gundaker.

An expert in seashells, George worked at W.S. Stetson Seashells in Wanchese.

He is survived by wife Elena Mahusay Gundaker; a niece and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by sister Margaret Fisher.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on July 10 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
