Debra Lee Bankord, 62, of Elizabeth City, died July 14, 2020 at her home.  She was born in Wilmington on January 9, 1958 to the late Tony Lee Barnhill and Margie Butler Barnhill.

She is survived by daughter Nancy Moss of Wilmington; John Pope, her longtime companion; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by siblings Jeanie Barnhill, Donna Sue Jacobs and Ronald Anthony Barnhill.
