Jane Aydlett Culpepper, 89, Elizabeth City, died July 20, 2020 in the Albemarle Sentara Medical Center. She was born on September 30, 1930, in Elizabeth City to the late Trim White Aydlett and Maude Evangeline Perry Aydlett and was the widow of the late Levin Butler Culpepper. Jane was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter Nancy Culpepper Spruill and husband Walt of Manteo, daughter-in-law Gail Bass Culpepper of Southern Shores, grandchildren Jane Hunter Spruill-Causey and husband Ron of Edenton, Stephen Tyler Culpepper of Raleigh and Anna Catherine Culpepper of Raleigh and two great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Catherine Culpepper Hudgins; son Stephen Hall Culpepper, sister Van Jones and brother Trim Aydlett.
Due to the current conditions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will be having a private graveside service in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church, 300 West Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
