Federal disaster declaration made for 25 North Carolina counties
President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in 25 counties in North Carolina. Federal assistance will be available to supplement the state’s response efforts resulting from Tropical Storm Isaias.
Governor Roy Cooper made the announcement at a media conference Aug. 2.
Included in the declaration are Currituck, Dare, Hyde and Tyrrell along with Camden, Pasquotank and Chowan and 18 additional counties along North Carolina’s coastline and inland.
A FEMA team is already present in the state’s emergency operations center.
