Ramey Spencer Tillett, 28, of Wanchese, died July 30, 2020.

A native of Dare County, he was born December 3, 1991, to Ricki Wilson Tillett and Craig Tillett (Leslie) all of Wanchese.

Ramey loved to be on the water. He also enjoyed fishing and worked as a commercial fisherman. He was nicknamed lots of titles “Ramos” “Ram Rod” “Rambo” and more, each given by friends whom he loved like a brother. Ramey and his brother Brocke had a special bond that could never be broken. He loved dogs especially HallieMae and Emmitt. But his greatest love was Hope Shiflet.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers Brocke Tillett and Kolton Henderson; stepsiblings Ashley Bell, Michelle Anderson and Walter Davis; grandparents Gilbert “Moon” and Jean Tillett; and a host of extended family members, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents William “Billy” and Janet Wilson, paternal grandmother Linda Tillett and paternal stepbrother Marvin McGahan.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on August 7, 2020 at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at Tillett Cemetery in Wanchese.
