Mount Olivet United Methodist Men’s Scholarship fundraiser set

The Mount Olivet United Methodist Men will hold a barbecue/chicken dinner scholarship fundraiser on Friday, August 21 in front of College of The Albemarle in Manteo.

The drive-through event will feature Captain Bob’s (Hertford) catering. The $10 boxed meals include barbecue, chicken quarter, cole slaw, hushpuppies and potato salad. Meals will be available form 4-7 p.m.

Mike Harris, an event organizer, said the most recent scholarship distribution was to three graduating high school seniors going on to pursue a college education for $1000 each. Last year, there were five $1000 scholarship recipients.
