Dollie Mae Bateman Trueblood, 75, of Elizabeth City, died August 31, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pasquotank County on March 21, 1945 to the late Claude Bateman and Alma Marie Berry Bateman, she was the widow of William Henry Trueblood. Dollie worked as a beautician in the area for many years and also kept the books for her husband’s diesel mechanic business.

She is survived by daughter Lisa Trueblood Majka and husband Edward, of Shiloh; son Michael Trueblood and wife Dawn, of Elizabeth City; brother Russell Bateman and wife Felay, of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Tray Basnight, Heather Romaine, Tyler Romaine, Savannah Roberts, Anthony Besso, Justin Mapes and Allen Mapes; and eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by siblings Lucielle Kovel, William Bateman and Claude Bateman Jr.
