Outer Banks Seafood Festival to present new event, 2021 Chowder Banks Fest

The Outer Banks Seafood Festival has announced a new event, the 2021 Chowder Banks Fest. This event will be held on April 24, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head.

2021 Chowder Banks Fest will have:

– Chowder Tasting: Contestants will provide a tasting of their best chowder. Prizes will be awarded for the best taste.

–  Miss and Mister Outer Banks Pageant: For local kids from Dare, Currituck and Hyde counties, categories for ages 2-3, 4-6 and 7-10. The winners will preside over the 2021 Outer Banks Seafood Festival on October 16, 2021.

– Food trucks, beer and wine.

– Arts and crafts.

– Local music all day.

“The Outer Banks Seafood Festival Board thinks the Chowder Banks Fest will be a welcome Spring 2021 event to get the 2021 season off to a great start,” said Richard Hess, 2021 Outer Banks Seafood Festival chair. “With the need for social distancing due to COVID-19, we know everyone will be ready to come out, taste great chowder, enjoy local entertainment and more.”

Tickets will go on sale in early 2021. Chowder taste contestants and vendor applications will be online soon at outerbanksseafoodfestival.org.

Over 9,000 attended the 2019 Outer Banks Seafood Festival. The 2021 event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Outer Banks Event Site in Nags Head.
