LaRee Lynn

LaRee Lynn, 90, of Spot, died October 8, 2020 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  LaRee was born in New York to Ray and Alice Lynn in 1930.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

He was a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts as a young adult and spent most of his adult life coaching and mentoring Currituck County youth in baseball and golf. Mr. Lynn was a pioneer in helping to start the first organized baseball program in the county.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son LaRee Lynn Jr. Survivors wife of sixty-eight years, Shirley Owens Lynn; sons Terry Lynn (Sherry) and  Alan Lynn (Connie); daughter Cindy Staples (Wilson); grandchildren Wilson Staples (Julye), Amanda Staples, Steven Lynn and Joshua Tipton; and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside service was held October 12 at Powells Point Christian Church with the Rev. Walter Gallop officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Currituck County Library, 4261 Caratoke Highway, Barco, NC 27917 as he was a lifelong avid reader.
