Dare County Sheriff Doug Doughtie is requesting information about the vehicle break-ins that have occurred at the Camp Hatteras RV and KOA RV Resorts in Rodanthe. These break-ins have occurred from Aug. 31, 2020 to present day.

The person or persons involved have taken firearms, money, wallets, purses and other items from these unlocked vehicles. “They have taken from those who have worked hard to take a vacation here in the Outer Banks,” stated the press release. “Money that supports locals in their businesses was stolen. The firearms taken will most likely end up in the hands of those who want to use them for illicit purposes.”
