James Edward Dougherty, 89, of Grandy, died November 9, 2020, at his home.

Born in Albany on October 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Margaret Simmons Dougherty of Rensselaer, NY and James E. Dougherty of Albany, NY.

Honorably serving his country, Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was predeceased by wife Elaine.

Jim is survived by daughters Patricia Penley (Ray) of Concord and Kathleen Chiarello (Anthony) of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sons Michael Dougherty of Raleigh, Kevin Dougherty of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and James Dougherty (Amy) of Kitty Hawk; grandchildren Michael, Kelly and Hayden Dougherty; a great-granddaughter; sister Marge Phelan and husband Ed of Colonie, NY; a niece and nephews.

There are no plans for a service at this time.
