Ruth Foster Burgess, 99, of Shiloh, died December 1, 2020 at home. Born in Camden County on February 27, 1921 to the late Cecil R. Foster and Bertie Harrison Foster, she was the widow of Jesse Crosby Burgess.

She is survived by daughter Lonice Pugh; sons Glenn Burgess and Landis Burgess (Sharon); grandchildren Cheryl Armstrong, Wacy Pugh, Rebecca Pugh, Justin Burgess and Hayley Burgess; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother Norman Foster.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on December 5 at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Wayne Wood. Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is serving the family. www.TwifordFH.com.
