The Pea Island Preservation Society, Inc. collected a tremendous amount of food as part of the Town of Manteo Police Department’s food drive and almost two dozen coats during the First Annual “Dellerva Collins Coat Drive for Kids.”
“Miss Dell” was a longtime Town of Manteo commissioner and the namesake of Collins Park. The coats were donated to Dare County Social Services.
In partnership with the Salvation Army, PIPSI also collected $620 to benefit the Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County and it was matched by Outer Banks Dreams Realty.
PIPSI expressed thanks to those in the community who donated coats and cash for children in need and food to benefit the local food pantries.
