Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration is virtual Jan. 16

The Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee invites the Dare County community to join a virtual program to celebrate the rich legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This year marks the 30th year the Dare County celebration. The program will feature re-enactments of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” Speech, songs, and inspirational messages by Rev Tom Priest and Rev Tom Williamson.

Program highlights will include an inspirational message from Rev. Priest and Rev. Williamson, Excerpts from Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream Speech” will be performed by Anjelica Lewis of Manteo interspersed with singing from renowned opera singer and Manteo native T’Shombe Selby.

This year’s program is sponsored by the Dare County Ministerial Association, Gallop Funeral Services Inc., Tess Judge, Jane Webster, Robert Woodard, and Outer Banks Hotline. This virtual event is open to the public.
