Hyde County Schools has reported that over $1,000 has been granted to Louise Beirne, fifth grade teacher at Mattamuskeet Elementary School, to support the purchase of video recording equipment for the “I See You!” project proposal designed for English language arts and social studies.

Beirne recognized a need in her classroom as many of her students did not have internet available in their homes at the beginning of this school year. This project involves the use of action video cameras to be used for multiple reasons in her classroom, but mostly to enhance the interactive teaching and learning going on in the classroom as well as at home. This equipment would be assigned to different students at different times during the school year to complete certain assignments and projects for either subject areas, stated a Hyde County Schools press release.

Beirne also hopes to extend this resource to other grade levels at school.

We are proud of her accomplishment, and we are looking forward to seeing this project in action soon!”
